Journey presents a surrealist setting where a man is rowing his boat through a wondrous landscape, surrounded by buildings and stones with strange symbols and runes. A bright heavenly light illuminates the traveller's origin while a stark contrast is made with the vibrant blue light, from behind the walls, of this mysterious sunken building. OK, I'm not saying it's mind-blowingly good. Rather, I want to allude to how this picture came about: I painted it with a hammer! You can find the complete creation process on my blog at https://christiandrab.de.
This painting is based on the original Dream of Nimue by mixed media artist Ida Andersen Lang. I tried to do it Justice but my paper was terrible and could not withstand many mediums. Watercolor, colored pencils, pastel, gloss varnish, on mixed media paper.
Do you have your own workspace? Lucky you. So am I too :) Remember: surrounding yourself with positive things gives you energy. And one more thing: less is more :)
